Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has provided a transfer update regarding Aberdeen forward Scott Wright after he confirmed the Gers had made a move for the player in his last press conference.
Looking ahead to the weekend’s tie with Ross County, Gerrard was asked about the situation with Aberdeen star Wright.
The Ibrox gaffer was blunt and confirmed earlier reports that there had been no developments regarding the deal this week.
“That situation hasn’t changed,” said Gerrard [Rangers].
“I think we were quite clear and Aberdeen were quite clear but there’s nothing that’s changed this week so no, that’s as it stands.”
Gerrard would also talk down links to Bournemouth duo Jack Simpson and Nnamdi Ofoborh who are reportedly wanted at Ibrox.
The centre-back and midfielder were linked to Ibrox by Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdam who claimed Gerrard was been a “long time admirer” of Simpson in particular.
Rangers have today made contact with Bournemouth over potential moves for defender Jack Simpson and Nnamdi Ofoborh.
Steven Gerrard has been a long time admirer of Simpson, who is out of contract in the summer.

“No [I can’t tell you about that],” said Gerrard.
“I think Rangers are linked with players on a daily basis especially when the window is open so it’s nothing new to me.
“What I won’t do is be disrespectful to any individual player or individual club and they’re two players who belong to a different club.
“What I will say is that we are making inroads, we are trying to actively improve the group, not just for now but for the future as well.”
The comments come after sources at Ibrox actively spoke down a trio of links this week with Rangers reportedly making moves across the country.
It’s a sign of a changed transfer policy with the club’s media quickly clamping down on falsified stories in the press.
