But despite that, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has previously admitted that the club is “extremely close” to a pre-contract deal for Scott Wright whilst names continue to be linked to the club.
The two most recent players linked to Ibrox are Bournemouth pair Jack Simpson and Nnamdi Ofoborh.
The centre-back and midfielder were linked to Ibrox by Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdam who claimed Gerrard was been a “long time admirer” of Simpson in particular.

Steven Gerrard has been a long time admirer of Simpson, who is out of contract in the summer.

As it stands Rangers are yet to make a signing in the January window but there have been links aplenty.
