Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has hinted that Matt Polster could return to the side for the trip to Ross County after the American returned to full training.
The midfielder-turned-full-back hasn’t been seen since February and has only made seven appearances all season.
But with under-fire captain James Tavernier carrying an ankle knock, Steven Gerrard revealed Polster could be drafted in against the Staggies.
“Polster’s back in full training today,” said Gerrard [Rangers].
“There’s a chance Polster could be involved [against Ross County].
“James Tavernier’s got a kick that he obviously come off the Hamilton game with.
“He’s had some treatment over the last couple of days on that, he’s a doubt for the weekend but he’s not ruled out so we’ll give him every chance.”
The fact Matt Polster is returning to action might hand him an opportunity to impress with James Tavernier doubtful for the trip to Dingwall.
The American full-back has found chances limited at Ibrox over his 14 months at the club but looked a solid deputy for Tavernier at the turn of the year.

Rangers skipper Tav had been sidelined with an appendix issue and the former Chicago Fire midfielder proved an able if not an effective deputy.
Rangers also have former England international Jon Flanagan and highly-rated Ibrox prospect Nathan Patterson as right-back options should the club’s captain fail to prove his fitness.
