Rangers boss Steven Gerrard might’ve sparked rumours he was on the brink of exiting the Gers, but the Ibrox manager has never lost the support of chairman Dave King.
The Rangers manager cut a considerably more relaxed figure in Friday’s press conference looking ahead to Ross County.
And now Gerrard has been speaking about the continued backing he’s got from South Africa based businessman Dave King.
“I have regular contact with Dave and he’s supported me since day one,” said Gerrard [Daily Record].
“This week, on the back of some bad results, all the board have been there for me and they’ve been rock solid.
“I think any manager at this football club needs that.
“I think the board have seen enough over the course of 20 months, with this same group of players, to believe we’re capable of getting through this.
“Of course, confidence has been hit. A few things have been hit of late.
“But this is a challenge for all of us to prove we can get through it. And that starts at Ross County.”
Gerrard’s comments all but confirm that the under-fire Gers gaffer is set to remain at Ibrox and will get another shot at mounting a title challenge with Rangers.

The Liverpool legend might appear more relaxed in his press conferences and in talking about his future, but he will be well aware that he needs to please the people that really matter.
Rangers fans are putting the manager under increasing scrutiny and the Ibrox gaffer’s name no longer proceeds him in Glasgow.
