Rangers manager Steven Gerrard produced a brilliant response to an Alfredo Morelos Instagram post over the weekend.
Gerrard turned 41 on Sunday and the club sent him birthday wishes via social media, including a highlight reel of some of his best moments at Ibrox, while a photo of him with the Premiership trophy was chosen as the ‘Pic of the Day’.
Morelos still felt the need to share a message of his own, though.
The talisman took to Instagram on Sunday and shared a photo from trophy day at Ibrox in which he’s alongside Gerrard, captioning it “I want to wish a happy birthday to the best coach in Scotland.”
It didn’t take the Gers boss long to respond and his replies were superb.
Initially, Gerrard simply wrote “Amigo” alongside red and blue heart emojis. However, he soon followed that up with “Just Scotland” and a questioning emoji, before adding “Europe? World?” and a laughing face.
Morelos’ initial post racked up over 38k likes but users loved Gerrard’s responses too, with the final one receiving close to 8k likes.

Supporters were clearly delighted to see the manager and his star striker interacting in this light-hearted way over social media, with the pressure of the 2020/21 campaign now behind them.
Morelos is often the subject of transfer speculation but he’s contracted until 2024 and it’s hoped that he will remain in Glasgow for at least another season, as the Gers take a charge at the Champions League.
The Colombian international is due to take part in the Copa America this summer but recently tested positive for Covid-19.
