Steven Gerrard has issued an update on Glen Kamara ahead of Rangers’ top-of-the-table clash with Hibs [RangersTV].
Kamara was subjected to disgraceful booing throughout the Gers’ Europa League match against Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic on Thursday evening.

The Finland international was sent off in the 74th minute of the 1-0 defeat after picking up a very harsh second yellow card.
The conduct of the Sparta fans, who were predominantly children, was widely condemned by fans and journalists.
Kamara’s lawyer, Aamer Anwar, also released a scathing statement after the match.
On Friday, Sparta responded with a scarcely believable statement that labelled accusations of racism towards the Rangers star as ‘unfounded’, ‘desperate’ and ‘ridiculous’ and called on the media to ‘stop attacking our children.’
Earlier in the day, Gerrard had provided a positive update on Kamara before criticising UEFA for failing to take sufficient action against the Czech club for previous incidents.
“I have spoken to Glen Kamara and the conversation will remain private,” he said [RangersTV]. “Glen is ok.”
“We watched some football together last night while we got some food. Glen’s ok, I’m sure he’s disappointed just like myself and now I think it’s time for the authorities and the club to step in and just take that away from us so we can focus on the game on Sunday.”
“There’s hundreds and thousands and maybe more people who are disappointed and frustrated because these things keep raising their head far too often and unfortunately the punishments are not enough. There needs to be more done and it’s the only way it’s going to get eradicated.”

Gerrard provides positive Glen Kamara update ahead of Hibernian clash
The scenes in Prague on Thursday evening were utterly depressing and something Kamara should never have had to go through.
It’s a matter that Rangers should now pursue with vigour to ensure strong action is taken.
In the meantime, Kamara will no doubt continue to play for his club and country with distinction.
The 25-year-old proved last season, following racist abuse from Slavia Prague’s Ondrej Kudela, that he’s an incredibly strong character, and after this positive update from Gerrard, it would be no surprise to see him make the starting XI for Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash with Hibernian.
In a boost for Rangers, Hibs are set to be missing several key players due to injury.
