Steven Gerrard has spoken out about Rangers penalty duties following Alfredo Morelos’ miss against Celtic at Hampden on Sunday, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
The Gers have had their problems from the spot this season, missing four of the six they have been awarded.

James Tavernier was previously the designated taker, but after he missed three out of five over the early part of the campaign, the management team decided to hand the responsibility to Morelos, who failed with his first attempt.
Gerrard on Rangers penalty debate
“Listen, the penalty thing we’re not going to hide from it,” said Gerrard, as quoted by the Scottish Sun. “It’s up to me to try and find a solution.”
“But there are people queuing. There are people desperate for it and there are people who have already pulled me.
“But I’ll make that decision when I need to.”

Verdict
Sunday’s penalty miss initiated widespread debate amongst the fan base.
Did Tavernier bottle it? (No) Was Morelos the right choice? Are there better candidates in the team?
Judging by Gerrard’s comments here, there’s no shortage of players willing to step up.
However, his suggestion that it’s a decision for the future hints that no change has been made since the final.
Therefore, if the Gers are awarded a penalty against Young Boys at Ibrox this evening, Morelos could step up once again.
