Rangers’ Borna Barisic has been taken off injured only half an hour into Croatia’s ongoing match with Hungary. We do not know the full extent of the injury.
The Rangers left-back went into the game off the back of a superb performance in the first leg. He earned the plaudits of the Croatian media and it looked like a major confidence boost.
Injuries have plagued the former NK Osijek captain’s first season at Rangers. He just doesn’t seem to have had any luck with them.

Every time the player starts to get fit and starts to find a rhythm he gets a setback like this. It’s desperately unlucky but perhaps also a testament to how injury prone he is.

Only last week he was speaking about how his injury hell was now behind him [quoted Daily Record].

Barisic a major doubt for Old Firm

The left-back is made of glass and the only level of consistency he’s had all season is how consistent he’s been on the treatment table.
Rangers fans will be hoping this latest disappointment won’t rule him for the foreseeable future. Barisic will now be a major doubt for the upcoming Old Firm match.

The player would probably have started at Parkhead off the back of his refreshing trip away from the club. But this Hungary game appears to have turned into a bit of a nightmare for the player.
Now it looks like he’ll be watching on from the sidelines after the Croatian picked up yet another knock.
Supporter’s patience might be beginning to wear thin with Barisic’s stumbling form and injury worries. But should we look to this iconic Rangers star for reassurance?
