Rangers defender Borna Barisic has claimed that reports of him clashing with Steven Gerrard and being told he is for sale have been “taken out of context.”
Speaking to Croatian news outlet Sportske Jutarnji, Barisic also reaffirmed his commitment to Rangers.
The former NK Osijek captain has struggled with injuries since joining the Glasgow club and he also sees this as a major influence on his stuttering Gers career.

“This [talk of clashing with Gerrard] has been taken out of context,” said Gerrard. “The only truth here is that I have been injured and I have found it hard to get into the team that is in great shape.
“Rangers are a big club with great players and it’s not easy to get back into the side.
“As far as my relationship with the coach, it’s all great with me.”

Barisic does admit to a “misunderstanding”

However, Barisic does admit there was a “misunderstanding” over when the player returned from the last international break.
Barisic picked up a knock for Croatia in March and Steven Gerrard vented his frustration at the player’s late return to Ibrox [originally Daily Record].
The Croatian international explained: “Yes, Rangers were angry, but there was a misunderstanding.
“Everything was eventually sorted and now there’s no problem in that regard.”

Reports had suggested that Borna Barisic, Eros Grezda and Kyle Lafferty all look to have played their final games for the club [originally the Herald].
This was said to come after a terrible showing in a friendly against a Liverpool select a few weeks ago.
But these latest comments from the Croatian suggest that he does have a future at Ibrox.
