Rangers are battling German side Schalke and La Liga club Valladolid for Wolfsberger AC striker Shon Weissman, according to Pucela Fichajes.
Galatasaray are also said to be interested in the Israeli international who hit 30 goals in 31 games for the Austrian Bundesliga side last season.
The reported interest has also been repeated by German Bundesliga journalist Ronan Murphy who works with Goal.com.
Weissman, 24, has been capped four times by Israel and burst onto the scene in his first season in Austria, hitting 37 goals in total for Wolfsberger in all competitions.
That includes two in six Europa League matches and five in three games in the Austrian OFB Cup [Transfermarkt].
In the Austrian top-tier the powerful striker averaged a goal every 89 minutes and has previously been linked with a £4.5m move to Old Firm rivals Celtic [Scotsman].
The reported interest in the player also comes as Steven Gerrard admits he doesn’t know if Alfredo Morelos will be at Rangers come the end of the international break but at the moment he expects to see him at Ibrox.
Morelos has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 Lille with reports in his native Colombia suggesting an £18m (€20m) move has been arranged.
“I don’t know (about Morelos),” said Gerrard [Scottish Sun]. “That’s a very difficult question for me to answer.
“I’m taking each day as it comes in terms of Alfredo. He’s trained really well this week but I really can’t control what other teams will do.
“All I can do is manage the situation on a daily basis. At the moment, where we stand right now, I expect to see him after the international break.”
Weissman joined Wolfsberger from Maccabi Haifi on a two-year deal last summer and his early success in Austria has seen no shortage of suitors reportedly after his signature.
