Rangers are interested in a move for former Middlesborough winger Billal Brahimi as he impresses during a loan spell with Championnat National club Le Mans FC.
According to Foot Mercato, the Gers are battling the likes of Lens from France and Stuttgart from Germany for the 20-year-old Stade de Reims forward.
An unnamed Serie A side are also said to be interested in the pacey left winger, who has scored six goals and laid on two assists in 16 matches for second-tier Le Mans this season.
Contracted to Ligue 1 Stade de Reims until 2023, Rangers would need to cough up for the winger but it is not clear what kind of fee Brahimi would command.
Brahimi came through the youth ranks at the Riverside and even made a solitary EFL Cup appearance back in 2018, coming on as a substitute in 2-1 win over Rochdale.
Since then Brahimi has appeared for the Stade de Reims second string and Le Mans but has yet to appear for the club’s first team proper.
As for the kind of player Rangers would be getting in the youngster he has previously compared himself to three elite level wingers in Riyad Mahrez, Gareth Bale and Leroy Sane.
“If I work hard and well, I hope to be able to play in the Premier League one day,” Brahimi told FootMercato last year.
“I have three models – Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sane and Gareth Bale.”

Paris-born Brahimi isn’t the only young talent being linked to Rangers ahead of the January transfer window either.
The Gers have also been linked with a move for an exciting South American striking talent treading a familiar path to Ibrox.
