The Rangers B team have been handed a huge opportunity ahead of their Lowland League clash with Old Firm rivals Celtic B after it was announced the match will be played at Ibrox.
The senior sides will do battle on January 2nd but fans are set to be treated to a warm-up which will have plenty of intensity of its own on Hogmanay.
Rangers B and Celtic B are set to do battle for the first time in the Lowland League on January 31st after the first clash between the two sides was postponed in July due to fixture clash.
Celtic B are using the Penny Cars Stadium alongside Airdrie and the match clashed with the Diamonds’ SPFL League One opener against Montrose at the end of July.
But there’s no such chance of that happening for the New Year’s Eve clash as Rangers prepare to let their Colts side take to the hallowed turf to face off against their rivals.
The Young Gers have been using the Dumbarton Football Stadium for their home Lowland League matches this season with the Sons hosting Airdrie themselves on January 2nd.
Rangers B to play Celtic B at Ibrox
It’s a tantalising prospect for the Young Ibrox side and what’s more Rangers are selling tickets to the clash which could set up the New Year celebrations of supporters very nicely indeed.
The match will kick off at 12pm on Friday December 31st with tickets priced at just £10 for adults, £5 for concession and only £1 for junior MyGers members.
MyGers members will also receive one MyGers points for attending the fixture, with tickets only available in the Sandy Jardine stand at present. Read more HERE.
Rangers B regulars such as Leon King have already been reaching out to fans with how excited he is about the prospect of playing the match at Ibrox.
Rangers B currently sit second in the Scottish Lowland Football League, seven points off leaders Bonnyrigg Rose and six points ahead of Celtic, who sit 6th with a game in hand on the Gers.
The Ibrox youngster have done the club proud across three fronts this season but fell victim to a humbling in the SPFL Trust Trophy.
