Rangers and Celtic are set to lock horns in the battle for Brest’s Ligue 1 midfielder Haris Belkebla.
According to a report in the Scottish Sun and quotes from “Algerian sources”, the North African midfielder is “tempted” to play abroad.
The source claims Celtic have made an “interesting offer” for the 26-year-old midfielder whilst Rangers are simply credited with an interest.

“Belkebla has received another approach, from Rangers’ Glasgow rivals Celtic,” said the quoted sources [Scottish Sun].
“They have made an interesting offer, which could make Brest’s directors change their minds.
“He is tempted to play abroad, if the offer matches Brest’s valuation.”
The report comes after Belkebla enjoyed a productive season with newly-promoted Brest in Ligue 1, helping the Brittany club to a 14th place finish.
A product of the Valenciennes youth academy, Belkebla’s career has seen him turn out professionally for both Tours and Brest in France.
Fellow Ligue 1 outfit Lens are also credited with an interest in the midfielder, who has a solitary cap for Algeria.
Belkebla would’ve almost certainly added to this for the Algerian national team but was caught up in a scandal involving flashing his bum during a live Fortnite stream.
This resulted in the midfielder being sent home from the country’s African Cup of Nations squad in 2019 and he has yet to be seen since.

The Ibrox side is also being linked with a move for Amiens’ South African international Bongani Zungu in the French press [France Football].
