Rangers have been handed 9,500 tickets for the Europa League Final in Seville.

The initial allocation was supposed to be 10,000 as we reported a couple of weeks ago, however this has been cut by 500 due to ‘segregation’ according to Rangers.

Rangers released a statement with all the ticket information, saying that tickets will be distributed via the controversial My Gers scheme in a top-down approach.

There was also an opportunity to purchase tickets via the official UEFA ballot, with more than 20,000 briefs open to the public, the application deadline has passed and those who were successful should have already received an email with instructions on how to purchase.

The minimum requirements for getting a ticket through Rangers is 1528 points and fans will be contacted via email to purchase if they meet the conditions.

This year UEFA are giving away 4,000 complimentary briefs as a ‘thank you’ to fans for staying with football during the pandemic and these will be given initial priority to those with the highest number of points.

DISSAPOINTMENT

Unsurprisingly, demand for this game will far outweigh supply so the chances are getting a ticket are slim and many supporters will be disappointed to miss out but happy to make the trip regardless.

Of course, people will always be angry and blame the club in these situations and it is certain that Rangers will be disappointed that they can’t get everyone a ticket but people will always miss out unfortunately.

One thing is for sure, Seville will not be ready for Rangers come May 18th.
