How Rangers four summer sales are getting on away from Ibrox, Ranked

Rangers are on fire at the moment in the Scottish Premier League.

Philippe Clement has finally got his squad the way he wants them to play. The manager has now won five on the bounce heading into the international break, which will give the Ibrox faithful a lot of hope heading into the rest of the season.

But now, a well-earned break for Rangers, but best believe they’ll be working hard with the coaching staff on the training ground. They’ll want to continue their fine form.

But as Clement’s men hit some fine form, it’s interesting to also have a look at how Michael Beale‘s four summer sales are currently doing at their new clubs.

4 – Mateusz Zukowski

Slask Wroclaw confirmed the signing of the right-back from Rangers on June 28. The 21-year-old returned to Poland after only 18 months at Ibrox for an undisclosed fee.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s January 2022 transfer from Lechia Gdansk played just once in Glasgow – but he’s featured significantly more already this season.

Although more prominently, we can’t say the performances have exactly been impressive. The youngster has featured 12 times, with six starts – but has 0 goal contributions.

He’s still young, with a lot to prove – but the only way is up for his season in Poland.

3 – Antonio Colak

Parma Calcio 1913 confirmed the signing of Antonio Colak from Rangers on July 15. The striker switched to Serie B for £2.5m after a term at Ibrox.

Since joining the Italians, Colak has featured 12 times, starting just three games. In this period, he’s racked up three goals – which isn’t too bad despite averaging just 34 minutes a game.

The Croatian is averaging a goal every 138 minutes in Serie B, which has contributed to Parma sitting top of the league.

Nevertheless, he is no more than a fringe player, meaning he sits in third.

2 – Lewis Mayo

Kilmarnock confirmed the signing of Lewis Mayo from Rangers on July 20.

This one probably hurt the most for the player in terms of departures in the summer, with the sale concluding a 13-year association between the Gers and the centre-half. Mayo failed to make a first-team appearance at Ibrox.

But how’s he gone on at Kilmarnock? Pretty well for the 23-year-old. He’s started 13 out of 13 games, cementing himself as an integral player for Killie.

He’s also kept four clean sheets during this time, which has led to a favourable position in the league for the East Ayrshire side. Nice to see him doing well away from Glasgow.

1 – Fashion Sakala

Saudi Arabian side Al-Fayha announced the arrival of Fashion Sakala in a £4m transfer from Rangers on August 8 – which reunited the Zambian with former Gers boss Steven Gerrard.

He offered 24 goals and 15 assists over 91 games in Scotland after joining from KV Oostende, and he’s started as he left off in the Middle East.

He has six goals in 13 games and has become a vital player for his new side. They’ll be extremely glad they prised him away with a lucrative offer.

He ranks number one on our list. All stats are sourced from Sofa Score.
