Rangers fans will know what to expect when a Tottenham Hotspur side managed by Ange Postecoglou returns to Glasgow.
Philippe Clement has yet to beat Celtic in his time as manager but would win some Brownie points if he secured a win over a Premier League side.
Speaking ahead of the Europa League clash at Ibrox between Rangers and Spurs, Radu Dragusin reckons that the visitors could be in for a tough night.
Spurs expecting Rangers to be physical – Dragusin
The Europa League has seen the best performances of the season under Clement and it will take another effort like the one against Nice to cause a Spurs team that have a lengthy injury list problems.
According to Radu Dragusin, as reported by his club’s media team, Spurs aren’t expecting a tactical battle, but a physical one:
“We have analysed them and prepared for the match, we know that they’re a team that likes to put the physicality in, they like to bring this part of the game into their football and I think most of the game will be about winning our individual duels and trying to playing our football.”
Are Rangers a physical team?
These comments will come as a surprise to the Ibrox faithful who have watched Rangers being bullied by teams in the SPFL throughout the season.
The Europa League success has come from being aggressive, but not by being overly physical.
Clement, in a similar way to Giovanni van Bronckhorst, has gone toe to toe with every team he has faced so far and has yet to suffer defeat away from home in European competition.
Rangers have been brave on the ball and tried to attack with speed, they have looked like the team Clement described when he first arrived at the club.
The 50,000 fans will demand intensity and energy from their team, but as seen in recent weeks, they are capable of quality too.
Hopefully, Postecoglou and his Spurs analysts have underestimated Rangers and they are sent homewards, to think again.
