Patrick Stewart made his Rangers statement but it certainly didn’t seem to placate some fans.
Stewart have Philippe Clement his backing despite the recent slump but did make it clear the powers that be are aware things need to be so much better.
It didn’t stop the Union Bears staging a walkout during yesterday’s win over St Johnstone, emptying their section of Gers’ home on the 55th minute.
It wasn’t met with universal approval though with other Rangers fans booing their protest.
The ultras group had previously issued a strong statement demanding the sacking of Clement but also insisting the clubs issues run far deeper.
Clement responded to Rangers fans’ concerns post-match but also played down the suggestion he was under any pressure in his job.
However, the general consensus is that he does face a fight to stay in post with away form and consistency massive issues currently.
And one pundit reckons there was a hidden message in Stewart’s statement.

Neil McCann picks out Stewart’s Clement warning
Neil McCann reckons that while the CEO was giving the manager his backing, there was also a hidden meaning in the statement.
He insists that Stewart was telling fans Clement WILL be sacked if things don’t improve.
McCann told BBC Sportscene: “It didn’t surprise me and I think Patrick Stewart had a big job on his hands to make that statement and front up.
“I think he was pretty straightforward in his points he made. He’s given the manager his backing but the results have to be better, that’s obvious.
“If you’re reading between the lines, the statement is enough of a message out there to the fans that he’s said to the manager ‘the away form in particular needs to be better, the results have to be better, the consistency has to be better.
“Otherwise, Philippe Clement will know that he will lose his job.”
Does Clement have a future at Rangers?
Pressed on whether Clement will keep his job, the ex-Rangers winger said: “I wouldn’t speculate on that but if the away form in particular doesn’t pick up then he won’t be, it’s as simple as that.
“Rangers need to look at what is going wrong, why they’re not breaking teams down.
“I think Rangers have good players and they’re trying, I wouldn’t ever accuse them of not trying.
“I think sometimes players will look for direction and help from a manager about structure to help them maybe get into areas that will break down players.
“That has to happen from the manager but then at the end of the day when they cross that white line they need to make those spilt second decisions. And sometimes they’re making the wrong ones.
“The question you’re asking is a very aggressive one and I’m not going to answer as a yes or a no. What I will say is he’s under enormous pressure and if he doesn’t get those results, Rangers will make the decision.”
