PSV Eindhoven star Patrick van Aanholt was forced off in a weekend win over Vitesse and is now a doubt for the Champions League trip to Rangers.
The Eredivisie outfit warmed up for the first leg of their Champions League playoff with the Gers by defeating Vitesse Arnhem 3-1 away from home.
Coming from behind to defeat their Dutch rivals, Ismael Saibari, Yorbe Vertessen and Luuk de Jong combined to cancel out Marco van Ginkel’s opener.
But whilst club record transfer Noa Lang missed the match entirely – the PSV winger now a big doubt for the clash with Rangers – Patrick van Aanholt has also suffered an issue.
On loan from Turkish giants Galatasaray, the former Crystal Palace left-back is the Dutch club’s first choice in the position is regarded an important player.

However the defender was forced off midway through the second half and is now a major doubt for the trip to Rangers.

The Ibrox side will have one eye on the state of the PSV squad heading into the match, with Rangers hoping to repeat the feat of last season.
The Gers defeated PSV 3-2 on aggregate to progress to Europe’s elite competition and play in the Champions League for the first time in 12 years.
Whilst things didn’t exactly go to plan in the competition last season, Rangers know how important qualification for the tournament is financially and in terms of the club’s Euro reputation.
The benefits far outweigh the negatives and Rangers are preparing to go hell for leather in order to make it to the competition for a second season on the bounce.
PSV have revenge on their minds and whilst they go into the tie as favourites, Rangers certainly have it in them to spring a result.
With Noa Lang and now Patrick van Aanholt big doubts for PSV Eindhoven, Rangers will be monitoring their situation closely with this week’s clash at Ibrox all important in deciding the fate of the tie.
