Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has admitted that exits from the North London club are likely as Rangers continue to be linked with a move for centre-back Auston Trusty.
The former Rangers midfielder was speaking after Arsenal’s 5-3 pre-season friendly win over Barcelona in Los Angeles, where Auston Trusty was an unused substitute.
As Arsenal look to mount another Premier League title challenge against the might of Man City next season, Mikel Arteta has been talking about trimming the squad with Rangers fans having a vested interest in Auston Trusty.
According to reports, the 24-year-old USA international defender is the club’s number one choice as they hunt for a left-sided centre-back option ahead of next season.

“Well, we have 30 players here which is unsustainable,” said Arteta.
“Obviously, the market is still open and things can happen. We are prepared. I’m really happy with the squad we have at the moment.
“We have improvements to make in terms of what we want to do in games and we still have to do that. Overall really pleased with the team.”
Mikel Arteta hints Auston Trusty could leave Arsenal
Rangers have already signed seven players this summer and will look to add another two into the squad with the imminent arrivals of midfielder Jose Cifuentes and striker Danilo.
Of the seven names who’ve come into the club, only Leon Balogun is a defensive option.
The Gers have also been routinely linked to the likes of Auston Trusty and Jonathan Panzo this summer as they look to secure the signing of a left-sided centre-back.

Combine the fact that Auston Trusty has barely been involved for Arsenal in the US with Mikel Arteta’s comments and suddenly the defender’s future looks to be away from North London.
Having spent last season on loan with Birmingham City, the centre-back made a big impression on the club and was even voted the Fans’ Player of the Year at St Andrews.
