Wilson was reportedly going to recommend then Rangers manager Steven Gerrard to make a £2 million bid for the Scotland international full-back.
Hickey was at Heart of Midlothian at the time.

The full-back moved to Bologna in the summer of 2020.
Then in the summer of 2022, Hickey joined Brentford in the Premier League.

And now he could move to Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United or Bayern Munich.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich all are interested in signing Aaron Hickey from Brentford.

The report has claimed that the aforementioned clubs could bid for the Scotland international in the January transfer window.
Brentford, though, are not going to sell the 21-year-old on the cheap.

The 21-year-old has played six times in the Premier League for the Bees so far this season.
