Back in 2019, The Scottish Sun reported that Ross Wilson, then the Rangers sporting director, wanted to sign Hickey in January 2020.
Wilson was reportedly going to recommend then Rangers manager Steven Gerrard to make a £2 million bid for the Scotland international full-back.
Hickey was at Heart of Midlothian at the time.
The youngster did not join Rangers.
The full-back moved to Bologna in the summer of 2020.
Then in the summer of 2022, Hickey joined Brentford in the Premier League.

And now he could move to Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United or Bayern Munich.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich all are interested in signing Aaron Hickey from Brentford.
The report has claimed that the aforementioned clubs could bid for the Scotland international in the January transfer window.
Brentford, though, are not going to sell the 21-year-old on the cheap.
According to The Mirror, Brentford will look for at least £50 million for Hickey.

Hickey is a very versatile full-back who can play at right-back or at left-back.
The 21-year-old has played six times in the Premier League for the Bees so far this season.
Hickey made 23 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Brentford last season.
