You would never know that the transfer window was open given how quiet Rangers have been and how Philippe Clement has largely been left alone when talking about potential new signings.
Other than being linked with Lyall Cameron, a new defender appears to be the only other possible addition to the squad with Patrick Stewart warning fans not to get excited.
What the manager has been asked, is whether or not bodies will have to leave Rangers before the chequebook can be dusted off.

Philippe Clement gives Rangers transfer update
Speaking as part of the pre-match press conference for the Scottish Cup clash with Fraserburgh at Ibrox, Clement confirmed that the status quo is set to continue:
“It’s something that will be necessary for the club, yes. That’s a club decision. Like it were, the same decisions in the summer. That’s the situation for the moment in the club to do things,” the Gers boss depressingly explained.
“No clue. Of course, I know everything that’s going on. But I don’t have a clue if there will be something signed fast or not,” Clement offered when asked if any deals were imminent.
“The first second that we sign something; we will tell you all. That I can promise.”
Who are Rangers targeting?
As things stand, Rangers are leading the chase for Cameron and are looking to tie up a pre-contract agreement.
With Kieran Dowell being allowed to leave though, Nils Koppen might be negotiating with Dundee about the possibility of an immediate deal.
Hjalmar Ekdal’s name was ruled out almost as soon as it emerged with Kevin Mantilla being mentioned as a possible target in South American media outlets.
The 6ft 3inch centre-half was being watched by Liverpool in the not so distant past and could be an interesting acquisition.
What does look more promising, is a loan move for Lille defender Rafael Fernandes, the Portugal youth international being targeted to provide extra cover.
In addition to this, Tom Lawrence has been linked with a move to Besiktas.
Rangers fans haven’t had much to get excited about this season and seeing a couple of new faces would help to lift the gloom, for now.
