Derek McInnes was full of praise for Philippe Clement and Rangers in mid-week and Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell has made a similar compliment.
The Gers boss has overseen a remarkable change in fortunes and he will be looking to maintain momentum with another win at Ibrox.
Every player in the squad is playing their part but Philippe Clement is starting to earn the respect of others having dragged Rangers to the top of the league.
Philippe Clement earns praise from Rangers rival
To say that you never know what you are going to get from Motherwell is an understatement.
In their last half a dozen games, they have won 5-0 and 3-1 as well as only just missing out on a point to Celtic.
On the other hand, they have also lost to lower league opposition.
Just three points behind sixth, they will still have aspirations of making it into the top for the impending fixture split.
Rangers aspirations under Philippe Clement are entirely different though and Kettlewell has been quick to praise his opposite number:
“Rangers are a completely different side now, I was at Ibrox last Saturday and I thought they were outstanding.
“Quite clearly, you look at the manager and he’s had a fantastic impact.
“Rangers were written off, how many months ago and it was almost a procession to Celtic winning the league title.
“I think that was the story that was written at the time.
“But, that’s been turned on its head and watching them playing against what’s been a strong Hearts side, and a Hearts side that’s been in such a great run of form – they were good last week.”
It was a sentiment echoed by McInnes.
Rangers are a totally different animal under Philippe Clement.
There is a belief that was previously missing.
And the fans feel it too, as shown perfectly at Rugby Park.
It didn’t feel like another one of “those” nights, instead, there was a trust that Clement and the players would turn it around.
Kettlewell is right, Rangers shouldn’t be in the position that they are in and it has taken a Herculean effort to drag themselves back into the title race under Philippe Clement.
