Rangers manager Philippe Clement finds himself on the receiving end of substantial criticism from Ibrox supporters following the defeat to Kilmarnock.

Rangers are now six points off the top of the Scottish Premiership after a chaotic summer overhaul and a period of huge instability at the top of the club.

With fingers being pointed at the Belgian manager, Clement exuded calm as he addressed the press ahead of the Europa League clash with FCSB.

Whether Rangers fans like it or not, Clement is in it for the long haul at Ibrox and has urged the supporters to back the club.

But as the criticism intensifies, the Rangers boss has also hinted that there have been opportunities for himself to jump ship as it not so much sinks as it does lurch from the blue sea of Ibrox.

Philippe Clement hints at Rangers exit offers

Philippe Clement has previously suggested that there could be opportunities for him to leave Rangers.

The Rangers manager hinted that not even the mighty Real Madrid could pull him away from Ibrox amid links to Anderlecht earlier in October.

Speaking ahead of the clash against the Romanians, Clement once again hinted of interest from elsewhere but reiterated he’s here to see out the four-year contract he signed on the eve of the new season.

“Of course that was the whole idea about the contract,” said Clement. “From the board, and from me, to show I would not leave if something else came along the way.

“So everybody who did this job and who has worked in football knows to make that rebuild, and cutting wages, and making the club sustainable and investing in young players for now and for the future, it takes time.

“You cannot do that in one, two, three months, it’s impossible.

“Or you need to have all the luck in the world that everybody directly settles in, that there are no injuries, and that in all the games everything falls your way.”

Rangers manager urges fans to get behind team

The Rangers manager has also been urging supporters to get behind the team in order to accelerate the process at Ibrox.

With the club undergoing a substantial overhaul in the summer, the Gers have a number of emerging talents who have never played at a similar level.

It’s led to Philippe Clement urging the Rangers support to stick behind their young team to help them achieve their goals as fast as possible.

“All the fans were behind the story (last season),” said Clement.

“I didn’t go in the high that moment, or in the Harry Potter stories, so I don’t go in the drama also now.

“There is a big space in between and we’re in that space in between.

“And the fans will see, the next months that this team will become better.

“But the more they stick behind this team, the more they are positive, the more they give the team energy, the faster it will go also.

“But we understand also from our side that the fans need to see also things on the pitch.

“We were not happy with the performance in that way against Kilmarnock.”
