Philippe Clement has leapt to the defence of Cyriel Dessers after his matchwinning contribution for Rangers in the win over Hearts.
The Nigerian international striker, 29, scored the only goal of the game as Rangers edged out a 1-0 victory in the Scottish Premiership win at Ibrox.
And Philippe Clement took the chance to laud Cyriel Dessers for his contribution amid criticism over comments the striker made about his finishing ahead of the game.
The Rangers manager reckons the big striker is the subject of unfair stick at times and claims other hitmen in the Scottish Premiership get off with much worse.

Philippe Clement defends Cyriel Dessers
“He’s an enigma in that way that he gets a lot of criticism about (his finishing),” Clement told Premier Sports.
“And maybe other strikers in the league get much less criticism although they miss less chances and they score less goals.
“That’s something that’s been going on but the most important thing is that he’s not living that life and he’s just giving his best every time for the team.
“And he’s scored already a lot of goals this season.”
Rangers manager confirms Gers friendly
Philippe Clement has also been talking about his Rangers team’s performance in the 1-0 victory over Hearts.
Whilst the victory wound up being a slender one for Rangers in the end, the team started very brightly and produced a positive opening 20 minutes which excited supporters.
As Rangers now prepare to break for a fortnight for the final international break of the year, Clement has also been confirmed plans for a friendly match before competitive action returns v Dundee United.
“(We played well) last week also against Motherwell and against Olympiacos,” said Clement. “And in moments in other games also.
“But it’s about raising the levels, making things better, so it’s very important to get this result again.
“And like this we have our internationals going away, we have the other guys, some will play a friendly game also this week, some will have a little bit more recovery time in the first week because they played a lot.
“And like this to build for the next months to come to raise the levels again.”
