Now, Igamane will be charged with firing Rangers past Fenerbahce in the Europa League round of 16 and Philippe Clement can’t wait to see his young hitman face off against one player in particular.
Philippe Clement singles out £16.5m Fenerbahce striker
Philippe Clement has warned the Rangers team that they will face several Fenerbahce threats in the Europa League clash.
Jose Mourinho’s team are strewn with experienced internationals and plenty of talent, with no fewer than eight players being referenced by Clement after the draw.
But when it comes to Hamza Igamane, Clement is most excited to see how the Morocco hopeful compares to countryman and Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
Fenerbahce broke the Turkish transfer record to sign En-Nesyri from Sevilla in the summer, penning a €20m (£16.5m) deal to bring the striker to Istanbul.
Since then the hitman has gone on to bang in 24 goals for the Turks this season, including six in the Europa League.
The 27-year-old striker is one of Morocco’s most talented players, having made 78 caps and scored 23 goals for his country, and Philippe Clement is excited to see how Hamza Igamane compares.
