Partick Thistle fans are rejoicing after pulling off the signing of young striker Zak Rudden from Rangers.
The Jags announced the signing on Wednesday afternoon, stating that Rudden had joined on a two-and-a-half-year deal for a ‘nominal fee’ [ptfc.co.uk].

It marks the end of a long association with Rangers for the 19-year-old, who has spent the last season-and-a-half out on loan.
He starred for Falkirk in the Championship last season, before getting a taste of the EFL during a loan stint with Plymouth Argyle over the first half of the 2019/20 campaign.

He’s the latest of several young strikers to leave Ibrox permanently having promised plenty when coming up through the Academy ranks.
Both Andrew Dallas and Ryan Hardie left during the summer window for Cambridge United and Blackpool, respectively, and now Rudden has followed suit after failing to make it into Steven Gerrard’s first-team plans.

His departure will no doubt disappoint plenty of Bears, especially those who champion the need for homegrown players in the senior side.
However, the signing appears to have gone down extremely well at Firhill.
Rudden netted against Thistle last season during his time with Falkirk and it seems Jags fans feel he’ll do a good job for them in the bid to move away from trouble at the bottom end of the table.

What a chance that is to make an early impression.
