Just months after being linked with Rangers, Oliver Glasner now finds himself being mentioned as a potential Bayern Munich manager.

The sacking of Michael Beale in October sparked a host of rumours about potential replacements in the Rangers dugout.

Frank Lampard and Kevin Muscat were among the key names linked before Philippe Clement ended up being picked as Beale’s successor.

We saw so many names linked and one could now find himself in the mix for one of the absolute biggest jobs in Europe…

Oliver Glasner linked with Bayern Munich after Rangers rumours

Reports back in October suggested that Austrian coach Oliver Glasner had thrown his hat into the ring for the Rangers job.

Glasner was a familiar name to Rangers fans after he guided Eintracht Frankfurt to Europa League final glory against the Gers in 2022.

Now out of work having left Frankfurt at the end of last season, Glasner surprisingly hasn’t landed a job elsewhere.

A move to Rangers failed to materialise but Glasner could now end up in an enormous job.

Speaking on Bild TV over the weekend, reporter Christian Falk indicated that Glasner is one name Bayern Munich are considering.

Thomas Tuchel is under huge pressure right now as he lost 3-0 to Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend and now sits five points behind Xabi Alonso’s men at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Glasner is now thought to be a potential replacement if Tuchel is sacked, with Joachim Loew and former Bayern boss Hansi Flick also mentioned by Falk.

That would be a remarkable move for Glasner, who may be charged with the task of getting Bayern’s title charge back on track if Tuchel doesn’t turn things around.

Few could have predicted that when Glasner was being linked with Rangers but the biggest job of his career so far may be just around the corner.
