At one point Josh McPake was the brightest prospect of the Rangers Academy but since breaking through into the team in July 2019 things haven’t gone quite to plan for the one-time wonderkid.
Handed a debut against St Joseph’s a week after signing a three-year Ibrox deal in 2019, there were high hopes that the young attacker could break through into the Gers set up and compete for a first-team place.

But whilst it hasn’t quite happened for McPake at Rangers – who struggled at loan spells with Dundee and Morton and is now with Harrogate Town down south – there are clubs reportedly interested in his services in the English Championship.
McPake, 19, has turned a few heads south of the border with reputable journalist Pete O’Rourke claiming that Queens Park Rangers – managed by ex-Ibrox gaffer Mark Warburton – and Bristol City have an eye on Josh’s progress.
McPake has impressed since moving to English League Two on loan, making 14 appearances and scoring twice for the Sulphurites.
The winger’s performances certainly don’t appear to be going unnoticed and it will be interesting to see if either QPR or Bristol City make this reported interest official at the end of the season.

As it stands McPake is contracted to Rangers until the end of next season meaning any prospective suitors would need to splash some cash to secure the talented Ibrox youngster.
McPake isn’t the only Gers kid catching the eye on loan with Rangers securing a new contract for one of the club’s most coveted talents in January.
