Former Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty continued his resurgent form with Kilmarnock as he netted a comeback double to maintain the Ayrshire side’s Championship promotion charge.
Signed by fellow ex-Ger Derek McInnes in January, the two have set about ensuring the Rugby Park side gain instant promotion back to the Premiership after relegation last season.
Despite being favourites to do so, Kilmarnock currently find themselves in second place behind Arbroath and almost fell further behind against Dunfermline Athletic this weekend.
Steven Lawless had given the Pars a 1-0 second half lead before Northern Irish striker Kyle Lafferty netted a double for Kilmarnock to win the tie 2-1.
Dunfermline were also reduced to 10 men in injury time as Aaron Comrie was sent off on a bitterly disappointing afternoon for the Fife side.
But for ex-Rangers forward Lafferty, the game helped boost his Championship goal return since his return to Kilmarnock, a team he left in controversial circumstances at the end of last season.

The 34-year-old striker has now netted three goals in four Championship games for the side since rejoining the club after opting to move to Cyprus and Αnorthosis Famagusta.
This is one of several trips abroad Kyle Lafferty has taken in his career – his 15 clubs also seeing him play in Switzerland, Italy, Turkey and Norway – but now he’s wound up back at Kilmarnock.
Killie supporters will be hoping the forward can be the difference maker in a tight title race with the Dunfermline double proving the striker still has it at this level.
Kyle Lafferty has had two spells at Rangers in his career, the first coming between 2008 and 2012 and being much more successful than the second.

Signing on a reported £3.5m deal from Burnley, Kyle Lafferty went on to win three league titles, a Scottish Cup and two League Cups at Ibrox, before departing for Swiss side Sion.
Returning under Steven Gerrard in 2018 after a successful spell at Hearts, the striker couldn’t hold down a spot at the club and was eventually released from his contract at Ibrox.
Whilst Kyle Lafferty is hoping to earn promotion to the Scottish Premiership, another ex-Ger has his eyes on the Premier League.
