Premier League new boys Norwich are reportedly on the verge of signing reported Rangers target Aidan Fitzpatrick, despite having a £300k bid rejected.

The talented Partick Thistle winger is edging closer to a move down south according to the Norwich Evening News.

That’s despite the Daily Record claiming the Glasgow club have just rejected a £300k approach from the Canaries.

The Record report also claims that Rangers and Old Firm rivals Celtic are “trailing” the talented 18-year-old.

But if reports in Norwich are to be believed the Ibrox club and their Parkhead rivals are both set to miss out on the player.

Fitzpatrick broke through into the Partick Thistle side last season, making an impressive 30 appearances in all competitions as the Firhill side toiled in the Championship.

His return of seven goals and two assists is also pretty impressive given he’s still a teenager.

Norwich look to be wasting no time in their pursuit of the player and will be hoping to secure him on a long-term deal at Carrow Road.

It won’t be the first piece of Scottish talent the Norfolk club have expressed an interest in during this campaign.

Should Aidan Fitzpatrick move down south, he’ll be joined by Aberdeen youth goalkeeping talent Archie Mair, who’s signed a “long-term contract” at Carrow Road.

Norwich also appears to have lost the battle to Celtic for the signature of David Turnbull.
