Former Nigeria international striker Victor Ikpeba has described exciting Rangers talent Joe Aribo as a “wonderful player” after his performance against Brazil.

The gangly midfielder has burst onto the Nigerian international scene since joining Rangers and has been earning rave reviews for scoring two goals in two games for the Super Eagles.

Ikpeba, who plied his trade with the likes of AS Monaco and Borussia Dortmund in the 90s and early 2000s, believes that Aribo is an “exceptional” talent who scored a “sublime” goal.

“I think Brazil dominated this game and they had more goal-scoring chances to win the game,” said Victor Ikpeba [Soccernet.ng].

“Their possession football was splendid and we found it difficult to cope with.

“Credit to the Super Eagles for the goal they scored against Brazil. And credit to Aribo for the sublime goal he scored against the five-time World Champions.

“He’s such a wonderful player and I am delighted to see him play quality football for Nigeria.

“Joe Aribo is an exceptional player and he has shown the Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr that he is ready to claim a regular shirt.”

Ikpeba is not the only one who’s been raving about Joe Aribo ever since he stepped onto the pitch for the Super Eagles.
