New Rangers signing Nicolas Raskin has sent a Twitter message to Ibrox supporters after agreeing a long-term deal with the Ibrox club.
The Gers announced the Deadline Day switch for the 21-year-old Belgian midfielder after extensive links this January with the club reportedly paying around £1.75m to sign Raskin from Standard Liege.
After a deal was announced, Nicolas Raskin took to Twitter to send a message to Rangers fans as the midfielder looks to come in and make an immediate impact with the club.
The Tweet reads:
“Arrived. Extremely proud to have signed for this beautiful club, more than 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 for the upcoming challenges and can’t wait to face u guys at Ibrox.”
Nicolas Raskin takes to Twitter after joining Rangers
Nicolas Raskin was also giving fresh insight into his decision to move to Rangers in an interview with club media following the switch from Belgium.
Describing himself as someone who will relish the pressure of playing at Rangers, the Ibrox support are very excited to see what this young man can bring to the club over the next few years.
“I feel really excited about being here. I feel very proud also to join this big club and I look forward to playing at Ibrox,” said Raskin.
“When my lawyer told me this I was very excited because I was watching a game in Europe when Rangers got to the final so I knew it was a very big club. In Belgium we are looking a lot at the big derby so I was very excited.
“As a player, I want the ball and want to play forward. I can defend and cover good ground.
“I have to be prepared. I was playing at a club in Belgium that was almost the little brother of this club. When the manager was talking to me and explaining everything, I said to him that it looked like the big brother of the club I was at.
“I know how crazy the atmosphere in the stadium which is another reason why I chose Rangers. I could have gone elsewhere but I want to play for emotions.”
Nicolas Raskin will now be tasked with doing his talking on the pitch and not on Twitter for Rangers as he joins Todd Cantwell in signing for the Ibrox side this January.
Meanwhile, here’s why Swansea didn’t want to sell Morgan Whittaker.
