Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin has hinted that several key Ibrox stars should be fit for the League Cup Final v Celtic – and promised to start finding his best form in a month’s time.

The likeable 21-year-old Belgian star has made a solid impression since joining from Standard Liege on Deadline Day and the confident midfielder claims it won’t be long until he’s back into the swing of things.

After months of being banished to the Standard reserves amid a contract stand-off, and the challenge of moving to a new country, it was unlikely Nicolas Raskin was ever going to hit top form right away.

But with the suggestion the player is in line to start v Celtic amid several key player injuries, the ex-Standard star has claimed that injured players are expected to return for the match at Hampden.

This is after Michael Beale set a few nerves jangling by suggesting Ryan Jack, John Lundstram and Malik Tillman – who all missed the 3-0 win over Livingston – are doubts for the League Cup Final.

That’s even if the player insists he’s ready to play at Hampden.

Nicolas Raskin hints players to return v Celtic

“Of course I feel ready,” said Nicolas Raskin.

“I think the boys are coming back for the cup final but yeah I’m ready.

“I like to play in big games like that. I like to play with pressure. I’m very excited about that game.

“Oh I think just give me one month and I’ll be totally fit physically.

“When you arrive into a team, you need time to know the principles of the team but hopefully I can grow and be a better player than I’m showing now.

“I’m very excited to play against Celtic in this cup final because in football you only remember trophies. I’m here to win trophies so I can’t wait.

“I’ve spoken to the guys and they all say it’s going to be crazy, something I’ve never seen before. So I’m really excited to see this atmosphere and see what it’s like to play in it.”

As Nicolas Raskin hints several Rangers stars could return v Celtic, plenty of fans will be hoping one of them is Malik Tillman.
