Nicolas Raskin is back on the Rangers training field as he prepares to return from injury for the side in 2024.

The talented Belgian midfielder, 22, has been missing for Rangers since being stretchered off the 2-1 Scottish Premiership victory over Hearts in October.

Uploading a clip to his official Instagram account, Nicolas Raskin confirmed he’s on the verge of returning from the injury which has devastated his season.

Striking the ball into the top corner of a net at the Rangers Training Centre, the clash with Kilmarnock will come too soon but it’s an exciting update from the midfielder.

The social media post was also accompanied with the caption:

“Feels so good to be back. See you soon on the pitch (2024).”

Nicolas Raskin provides Rangers injury update

The absence of Nicolas Raskin has been a blow to Rangers this season with the midfielder highly-rated by incoming manager Philippe Clement.

The Belgian boss has had to contend with a series of injury issues with midfield a problem area in particular heading into a busy festive period.

In fact, the absence of Nicolas Raskin probably couldn’t have come at a worse time with Ryan Jack and Jose Cifuentes also picking up problems in recent months.

Rangers held off competition from some of Europe’s top clubs to sign Nicolas Raskin from Standard Liege last January and he has made solid impression.

A Belgian U21 international, ex-Belgium manager Roberto Martinez compared the kid to ex-Gers Gennaro Gattuso and big things are expected in Raskin’s career.

The player himself also has some heady ambitions with Rangers viewed very much as a stepping stone to the Premier League.

Philippe Clement will hope to bolster Ibrox squad

Midfield isn’t the only area of the squad suffering with injuries at present either, even if Nicolas Raskin’s return is a welcome boost.

Rangers are without Brazilian striker Danilo for the foreseeable future whilst Jamaican international Kemar Roofe is also on the sidelines.

Tom Lawrence – who has barely kicked a ball since joining the club last summer – is another long-term absentee whilst Borna Barisic and Ben Davies have also been nowhere to be seen as of late.

The injury problems have been relentless and Philippe Clement will hope to both boost his Ibrox team in the transfer market and in terms of its robustness.

That starts with getting the likes of Nicolas Raskin back in training and Rangers fans will welcome the player’s latest injury update.
