Nico Raskin has revealed how he has attempted to lose weight and gain fitness to be at his best for Rangers this season.
The Belgian midfielder has shifted a few kilos and looks leaner this term after spending some time out of Philippe Clement’s squad earlier this term.
It was been a conscious decision from the playmaker to shed some weight in a bid to be at his prime and as aerodynamic as he can be in the engine room for the club.
Now the 23-year-old has explained how he struck an agreement with a chef at Auchenhowie to help him organise meal prep and plan his eating habits for the evenings in an effort to be at his best to compete for a starting spot.

Asked how he himself has avoided injury this season, Raskin explained: “Myself? You know, I was a bit asking myself questions at the time because I’ve never really been injured before.
And when I came I started to have four injuries in one and a half years. So I was thinking I’m going to do something wrong to have those injuries right now.
“So I think a bit about it and I thought maybe I gained a bit too much weight, too powerful.
Nico Raskin struck an agreement with a chef at Ibrox to help meal prep
“So I just work on my weight and try to put it low to be lighter and to avoid all those small injuries. And it works good for me so I just continue with that. I took a chef to prepare me some meal at home so I can eat good in the evening.
“I can follow my weight every day. So yeah, I’m trying to make some extra to get back to my best form. And it works good for me right now so I just continue.”
Raskin provided more details on his deal with chef Alex who has been helping.
“You know, when you’re young, it’s difficult to eat well in the evening.
How Raskin feels he has benefitted from his new process
“So yeah, I came back here one day and I asked the people that take care of the food here. So the chef upstairs, everybody.
“If somebody can help me in that way and then I could have an agreement with one of the chefs upstairs, Alex. And he’s making me the food for the evening.
“So I just go and take my food. And yeah, it’s just better for me.
“So I don’t have to think too much about what I’m going to prepare for myself. Well, if it’s good, if it’s not good, if it’s a good day to eat this or not. He just knows everything. He just prepared me the thing. I go, I come, I eat. And yeah, it’s just better for me right now.”
