Rangers’ new striker £3.5m signing Kemar Roofe has released an exciting promotional video on his Instagram account ahead of the club’s game with St. Johnstone.
The former Leeds United and Anderlecht forward, 27, joined on the same day as Swiss international Cedric Itten, 23, in a double deal said to be worth £6m [Scottish Sun].
With clubs eager to see their new signing in action, Roofe dropped a major hint that he could be in line to make his Gers debut against the Perthshire Saints this evening.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard said that Roofe was about “7-10 days” behind the rest of the squad in terms of general fitness.
The match at Ibrox this evening could be the perfect opportunity for Roofe to continue his push for fitness and his promotional video may well suggest he’s in line to make an appearance.
This also comes after Rangers boss Steven Gerrard lavished new signing Cedric Itten with praise following his first week or so in training.
The Ibrox gaffer spoke very positively about the £2.5m signing after he made his debut in the 3-0 win over St. Mirren.
“Cedric came into the game when it was won. I think we were managing the game then, keeping the ball and not forcing the issue,” said Gerrard [Daily Mail].
“But from what I’ve seen in the opening two or three training sessions, I think he’s going to be a big player for us.
“He has to get used to the players and used to the style.
“But there are loads of appearances for him here if he works hard and earns them, he can be a big player for us.”

But if either player is determined to break into the Rangers first team, they’ll need to get in front of powerhouse striker Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian forward dragged himself back into goalscoring form at the weekend, netting a brace in the win over St. Mirren amid claims Lille have cooled their interest in the forward [Daily Record].
