New Rangers recruit Sheyi Ojo, has spoken to RangersTV for the first time.
The club confirmed the capture of the 21-year-old on a season-long loan from Liverpool on Tuesday evening.
The deal was a while in the making, but it has been made in time for the winger to benefit from a full pre-season with his teammates.
As far as he’s concerned, it’s an ideal move at this juncture of his career. Furthermore, he’s confident he’ll be able to make an impact.
“I just feel a real part of it already so I think it is the best initial feeling I have had of all the clubs I have been at on loan. I really have a sense that it is going to be a good season,” he told RangersTV.
“The manager wants me to just be myself when I am playing consistently, and hopefully injury free then everything goes well. I just haven’t had that consistency. So with Rangers this season it is just to play how I have always played, play freely and just enjoy my football.
“I am someone who always wants to get on the ball, I hate losing and I just want to play football. I like to show my skills, be creative and score goals. But I also like to assist goals, it is not just important for me to score but the players around me to score as well. I would say I am quite a good team player and I am just hoping I can show everyone what I can do.”

Verdict
It sounds as though, just like fellow new recruit Jordan Jones, Ojo is raring to go.
As a young player, he’s said to have bags of talent. Yet, as he admits himself, consistency has eluded him in the past.
It’s a remarkably similar situation to that of Ryan Kent at the beginning of last season.
Ojo needs a the platform to show his skills and a run of games to get into a rhythm. If Stevie G can give him both of those things, let’s hope he can take the SPL by storm.
