Neil Lennon has revealed in a press conference that Steven Gerrard didn’t join him for the traditional post-match Old Firm drink on Sunday.
According to the Scottish Sun, Gerrard didn’t visit Lennon’s office after the game. It’s just further evidence of the bad blood bubbling after the recent match.
Celtic cranked it up with their antics on the pitch, and it’s inspired fury ever since. The ongoing fallout has been monumental, and Rangers must ignore Scott Brown’s antics going forward.
Lennon reiterated Celtic’s plan to refute the charges against Brown, but he also took a swipe at Gerrard. The Celtic manager was responding to comments Gerrard made in the week.
As quoted by the Scottish Sun, Lennon said: “The only rational thing Steven Gerrard has said this week is that they played the best team in the country on Sunday.”
Lennon was responding to comments by Gerrard that Celtic and Lennon “can play the victim card” if they wish.
According to the same Scottish Sun article, Gerrard said: “Neil Lennon will say what Neil Lennon wants to say. His assistant will say whatever he wants to say.
“If they want to play the victim card, that’s up to them.”

He also said Celtic are “entitled to celebrate” and Rangers “must make sure the result is different” next time.
The bad blood will continue between the fans and players. But the fact the managers never shared the traditional post-match drink suggests there’s some between them now too.
