Graham Alexander has revealed that Motherwell understood the ‘bigger picture’ and allowed the fixture to be moved.
Rangers play Motherwell at Fir Park this weekend in the SPFL Premiership and the Light Blues must win to continue putting pressure on Celtic at the top of the table.
The fixture was originally scheduled for Sunday, however Rangers requested this to be moved to the Saturday to have more rest time for the upcoming Europa League Semi Final against RB Leipzig in Germany on Thursday.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Motherwell manager said why he felt it was the right decision to move the game.
“We understood the bigger picture, any Scottish club competing at that level helps the profile and the co-efficient and we’re a part of that.”
Whilst Motherwell have facilitated the wishes of Rangers, Alexander wasn’t impressed by the time it took for the decision to be finalised.
“The news came to us reasonably late, which we were a little bit frustrated about, but we understood and we’re supportive of the decision.”
We reported earlier that Kemar Roofe has been ruled out the next 3 fixtures, in a blow to the squad which means changes will be required up front.

The game kicks off at 12pm and is live on Sky Sports and Rangers News will provide pre and post-match updates including team news and predictions.
Can the injury hit squad get a victory?
