Rangers star Alfredo Morelos’ big miss for Colombia shows he’s not ready for his English Premier League “dream move”.
Morelos, who recently signed a new contract at Ibrox, made his international debut for Colombia on Saturday. Despite providing an assist for the winner, Morelos was also guilty of a horror miss.
There’s no denying it was a shocker of a miss from the Colombian. The striker has had previous of poor misses against the likes of Celtic and Ayr United during his time at Ibrox.
The sad reality of it is, if Morelos wants to get his dream move to England, he has to start burying those. The striker has often spoke of his desire to move down south at some stage in his career.
There’s been too many bad misses on the striker’s CV for him to make it anytime soon. Granted, strikers miss chances, that’s all part of the reality of being a front-man. But if Rangers are to cash in on their star-striker in the future, he can’t afford too many more.
MORE RANGERS STORIES
Down south, it won’t be as easy for Morelos to move on from his misses. The youngster has managed to start the season impressively with six Rangers goals to his name. But down south, it won’t be as easy to notch a couple of goals and forget about his misses.

Every Rangers fan would’ve hoped these shocking sitters were just a one-off. The truth is, however, Morelos is simply adding too many to his CV. The Colombia sitter isn’t the tip of the iceberg, but it’s another worrying blunder from the young forward.
At Rangers, Morelos manages to get plenty of opportunities going forward. This leads to him notching goals consistently and managing to forget about his misses. But if he were to sign for a Bournemouth or Huddersfield Town, he wouldn’t get quite as many chances.
If he’s managed correctly and continues to improve, the world is at Morelos’ feet. He has improved massively this season with his hold-up play and all-round game.
But as for embarrassing misses, they haven’t quite left the system as of yet.
