Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos didn’t break his duck against Celtic, even if he had plenty of chances to do so.
The Colombian striker was thwarted continuously by Celtic’s Fraser Forster leading to claims the Rangers man was cursed when it comes to the Old Firm Derby.
But as sweet as Morelos’ first goal against Celtic will be, he certainly doesn’t need one if it fires us to the Scottish Premiership title.

Because the striker didn’t score it detracts from what was a robust performance by the Rangers man.
Morelos regularly brushed off the Celtic defence, he found himself in good positions again-and-again, but he just couldn’t find the back of the net.
But what the performance of Morelos and the rest of the Rangers side proved is that Celtic are no match for Rangers when they’re on form.
This is not about ability, it’s about maturity and mentality and the result at the weekend is just another building block for us.
How anyone can look at that game and claim there is this monumental gap between Rangers and Celtic escapes me.

Similarly, it’s hard to justify those who think that because Morelos didn’t score at the weekend it somehow doesn’t make him a good player.
And that’s why he can it makes no difference if he scores against Celtic or not.
As long as it’s Rangers’ hands on the trophy come the end of the season.
