If you ask Rangers fans the two most indispensable players in this side, you’d probably get the same answer. Morelos and Tavernier.

And the stats don’t lie.

The combative striker and flying right wingback have contributed a massive 45 goals between them already this season.

The duo have been game-changingly creative at times and are a big part of why we are where we are. They were also named in the Europa League team of the week earlier in the season.

They’ve been immensely effective for the club so far this year.

And we’re only a quarter of the way in to the season.

Goals and assists from two top talents

Morelos and Tavernier are the top goalscorer and top assister in the Scottish Premiership respectively.

Morelos has eight goals in the Scottish Premiership. Tavernier has six assists.

Overall, Alfredo Morelos has 16 goals in 26 appearances for Rangers this season. He also has nine assists. That’s a contribution of 25 goals in 26 games.

Tavernier has nine goals in 27 appearances, but also 11 assists. That’s 20 in 27.

What’s also impressive is that seven of Tavernier’s assists have been for Alfredo Morelos.

Not only do Rangers two leading men have the ability to change things by themselves. But the club’s most valuable two players have an affinity with each other.

Their relationship was summed up by a hattrick of goals for Alfredo Morelos against Killie in August, set up by a hattrick of James Tavernier assists.

It’s true. Morelos and Tavernier are Rangers two most indispensable players.

Their performances on the pitch have already shown that.

But these stats prove it.
