Steven Davis’ international manager, Michael O’Neill, believes the midfielder could bring the SPL title back to Ibrox.
The 34-year-old has been a near ever-present as captain throughout O’Neill’s reign.
Clearly, he holds him in very high regard.
“I think he’s got every chance of doing that”, O’Neill told the Belfast Telegraph, when asked if he thought Davis could help Rangers win the league.
“One of Steven’s best qualities is that he brings that the best out in others. I think he could be a key player between now and the end of the season”, he continued.

High praise indeed, from O’Neill.
Importantly, despite doubts raised by rival fans, he doesn’t believe his captain is past it.
“He’s 34, but he has, for me, a couple of years left in him. I think it’s a great move for him.”
Clearly, O’Neill thinks the veteran still has plenty left in the tank, even at international level.
For him, the priority is a match fit Davis, going into Euro 2020 qualifiers, which start in March.
Northern Ireland were landed in a horror group with Germany and the Netherlands.
Therefore, the captain is going to be every bit as important to his country, as he will be for Rangers, over the coming months.
