Barry Ferguson has delivered some stunning moments during his first month as interim Rangers head coach.
The dramatic 4-2 comeback against Kilmarnock on his Rangers dugout debut was some way to start his tenure after the sacking of Philippe Clement.
Ferguson then outfoxed the great Jose Mourinho over two Europa League legs, with Rangers’ fantastic away triumph and subsequent Ibrox penalty shootout victory proving to be memorable nights.
Not to mention the 3-2 win over Celtic at Parkhead which was the Light Blues’ first win there since October 2020.
The former Rangers skipper’s success so far has some tipping him for the permanent gig in the summer, with ex-teammate Lee McCulloch saying Ferguson is in a “great position.”

Mols reveals Ferguson was quiet in dressing room as Rangers captain
For Michael Mols though, who played with Ferguson in the early 2000s, he still can’t even get his head around seeing Ferguson as a manager.
And Mols has explained his reasoning why, revealing that Ferguson as Rangers captain was never really a talker in the dressing room, despite fans perhaps naturally thinking otherwise.
Mols told The Scottish Sun: “To be honest, looking back I would never have thought Barry would end up becoming a manager.
“He always showed such passion during the games. But in the dressing room, he hardly ever talked. Barry always led by example through his actions on the pitch.
“It was the same with Gio (van Bronckhorst). I never thought he’d be a manager, but he went on to do very well in the dugout.
“I’m surprised, but it’s hard sometimes to tell who will make that step.”
Mols has say on 49ers Enterprises Rangers takeover
Mols, like every other Rangers fan, will have to wait and see whether Ferguson is handed the permanent job at the end of the season.
By that time, Rangers are likely to have new owners with the 49ers Enterprises consortium currently wrapping up their Ibrox takeover.
Of course, Paraag Marathe and Andrew Cavanagh – who are both leading the consortium – will have their say on who becomes the next Rangers boss.
Whatever happens, Mols is just keen for the new owners to deliver the finances that can strengthen the first-team squad in the hope they can win trophies next season and beyond.
Mols said: “It’s hard to know what to expect from the investment until it happens. We know the 49ers want the shares and want to get involved in improving the club.
“Of course the fans want to see big players coming in on big transfer fees. But it’s not always easy to get the right players in every single time.
“Hopefully they can strengthen the team and get the club moving in the right direction again. As long as we do better and go for the prizes, that is the main thing.
“It’s about bringing the joy back to Rangers. That’s what we want to see.”
