Rangers have decided to part company with Michael Beale, and a former Premier League manager has already been backed to replace him at Ibrox.

Scottish Premiership giants Rangers have announced on their official website this evening that the Gers have sacked Michael Beale as the first-team manager.

Coaches Neil Banfield, Damian Matthew, Harry Watling and Jack Ade have all been sacked as well.

Rangers have announced that “Steven Davis will lead the interim management team”.

The Gers’ chairman, John Bennett, has added that the former Scottish Premiership champions are already on the hunt for a new manager.

Sam Allardyce backed to replace Michael Beale at Rangers

And, Curtis Woodhouse has suggested Sam Allardyce as a potential replacement for Beale at Rangers.

Former Sheffield United player Curtis Woodhouse is a Rangers fan, and he believes that ‘Big Sam’ would be a good managerial candidate for Rangers.

Allardyce is without a managerial role at the moment.

The 68-year-old has managed some big clubs in his career, such as Newcastle United, West Ham United and Everton.

The Englishman took charge of Leeds United towards the end of last season.

Rangers unlikely to go for Sam Allardyce

I do not think that Rangers will make a move for Sam Allardyce.

Yes, ‘Big Sam’ is a very good manager, but he is 68 now.

I think that Rangers will hire someone who is much younger and can grow along with the team on the pitch.

Rangers are playing in Europe this season and have aspirations to make themselves regulars in the UEFA Champions League in the coming seasons.

Sam Allardyce does not have much experience in European football.
