Rangers chose not to appoint Kevin Muscat earlier this month and he may now be in a fight with Michael Beale for the Millwall job.
Michael Beale was given enormous control of Rangers over the summer as he looked to revamp his Ibrox squad.
Ross Wilson’s exit meant that Beale was effectively given the keys to Rangers’ summer window.
So far, it’s hard to say that many of his signings have excelled and that resulted in a disappointing start to the season.
Beale paid the price earlier this month, losing his job as Rangers pulled the trigger less than a year after appointing him.
Michael Beale fighting Kevin Muscat for Millwall job
Beale is coming up to a month out of work but he is in contention for one job back in England.
The Sun’s Alan Nixon reports that Millwall are interested in Beale and could move for him if they can’t land their top target.
That top target is none other than Kevin Muscat – the man Rangers almost landed to replace Beale.
Muscat was a key name in the Rangers mix after Beale’s sacking, with The Daily Record claiming that he was hopeful of a move to Ibrox.
However, Rangers went with Philippe Clement and TalkSPORT reported just hours before the Belgian’s appointment that Muscat had been informed that he had lost out.

Muscat has been continuing with his work in Japan, pushing for another league title with Yokohama F. Marinos.
Millwall are now very keen though given that Muscat was a fan favourite for Millwall in his playing days.
That emotional pull could be vital and The London Evening Standard report that Millwall now want a second round of talks with Muscat.
Tempting Muscat away from Japan won’t be easy but Millwall seemingly have hope of a huge appointment after parting ways with Gary Rowett.
Rangers chose not to go for Muscat but he could end up in the UK after all – and leave Beale out in the cold in the process.
