Rangers boss Michael Beale has dropped the biggest hint yet that Nicolas Raskin could start v Celtic.

The Ibrox manager came in for serious criticism from supporters after the League Cup Final for leaving both January signings Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell out of the starting lineup.

Whilst they would come on as substitutes, it was too little, too late as Michael Beale’s side stumbled at Hampden.

Rangers fans are eager to see freshness in the fixture with the same old faces losing to our rivals anyway and the support sick of being disappointed despite playing it safe.

Nicolas Raskin has missed the last few matches with a hamstring issue but Michael Beale has claimed the player is fit for the clash with Celtic.

Nicolas Raskin declared fit for Celtic clash

This will be music to the ears of Rangers fans who want to see the 21-year-old given a shot over the likes of stuttering performers such as John Lundstram and Glen Kamara.

“Raskin is fit and has trained all week,” said Michael Beale.

“He did miss three weeks but he is ready to play. He’s a boy that will give us all for his team-mates.

“If he has to come out I’m sure there will be a few waiting to get on the pitch.

“Todd (Cantwell) and Nico (Raskin) have brought nice energy into the group and have the quality to bring to the squad.”

Rangers signed Nicolas Raskin during the January transfer window and the Belgian U21 international has impressed the Gers support.

Highly-rated around Europe, it’s exactly the kind of signing many believe the club should be making and fans believe it’s imperative Nico is integrated as soon as possible.

If Nicolas Raskin starts v Celtic, there’s no better time to make himself a hero than at Parkhead and let’s see how the Rangers star gets on.
