Michael Beale has applauded Alfredo Morelos after the Rangers star shared footage of a stunning training goal on Tuesday.

Morelos made a slow start to the season, giving himself a lot of work to do to match his 2019/20 tally of 29 goals.

However, his form has improved considerably in recent times and seven strikes in eleven appearances since the turn of the year has taken him to a respectable total of 15.

With fixtures across three competitions still to come between now and the end of the campaign, he’ll be looking to overtake the Gers’ current top scorer James Tavernier (17) and to fire the club to further silverware.

He should have opportunities to make a contribution in two big games over the coming days, with the Gers hosting Slavia Prague in the Europa League Last 16, before travelling to Celtic Park for the third Old Firm of the season.

The 24-year-old will be fresh and raring to go after a rare weekend off and he certainly looked razor-sharp in training on Tuesday morning.

Morelos is known for his ability to be in the right place at the right time inside the area rather than as a scorer of spectacular goals, but he shared footage on Twitter of a stunning strike from a session at Auchenhowie.

In the clip, El Bufalo turns a defender with his first touch before quickly striking the bouncing ball, which flies into the top left corner, leaving the goalkeeper utterly helpless.

Supporters raved about the goal and even Michael Beale applauded the forward.

“Just another day at the office for @Morelos2106,” wrote the Rangers first-team coach on Twitter alongside rocket and clapping emojis.

The coaching staff and fans will hope that Morelos can pull off something similar against Slavia on Thursday night, as Rangers look to reach the Europa League quarter-finals for the first time under Steven Gerrard.

If the Gers do progress to the next round, they will receive a substantial cash reward from UEFA.
