Rangers star Ryan Jack has slaughtered former Aberdeen teammate Mark Reynolds after the Cove Rangers defender claimed VAR should’ve awarded St Johnstone a penalty.
The debate regarding the technology in Scotland continues to rage with plenty utterly demented by Rangers and any refereeing decisions that go in the Ibrox club’s favour.

Referee Willie Collum is under fire for sending off St Johnstone striker Nicky Clark for a high challenge on Ryan Jack, but only handing the Ibrox midfielder a yellow card for a late challenge minutes later.
Despite the fact replays show that the whistler did get both decisions right – Clark’s is high whilst Jack’s is late – there has still been the usual hysteria in the media.
But ex-Aberdeen centre-back Mark Reynolds took the Rangers VAR madness to the next level when he claimed Ryan Jack should’ve magically given away a penalty to Aberdeen for a tackle in the Dons box.
Ryan Jack slaughtered Mark Reynolds penalty claim
Yes, that’s right, despite the tackle being at the other side of the pitch, Reynolds said that VAR should’ve awarded St Johnstone a penalty in a claim which quite simply proves the defender never watched the game.
It’s quite remarkable defender is on Sky Sports blabbering about refereeing decisions, VAR and Rangers despite not having the faintest clue what he’s talking about.
“You’ve got these two incidents which happened very close together and you don’t then go and use the monitor and you take your own view on it and with the other you do the opposite,” said Reynolds on Sky Sports.
”So it’s just about finding that consistency. Again, when you look back at the tackle with Ryan Jack, he’s caught him in the box and for all intents and purposes that is a penalty.”
Seriously, Scottish football is so fanatically deranged with Rangers and the referees that they will invent this stuff to justify their own misplaced frustrations. If ever a moment summed it up, it’s this.
Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack – who spent time with Mark Reynolds at Aberdeen before moving to Rangers in 2017 – was also left in stitches by the entire thing.
Mark Reynolds has had a shocker here and let’s hope the defender has his facts right before he’s on speaking about Rangers or heaping unnecessary pressure on VAR and referees in the future.
Meanwhile, here’s what Michael Beale had to say on Nicolas Raskin.
