Manchester United get £82m ‘here we go’ from Fabrizio Romano ahead of Rangers clash

Manchester United are bracing for the visit of Rangers in the Europa League as Ruben Amorim struggles to catch a breath.

The under-pressure Manchester United manager has only been in the job since November but he’s already branded this ‘the worst Red Devils team in history’.

The Gers routinely punch above their weight at Europa League level and Philippe Clement wants his young team to pull off ‘something special’ in the Theatre of Dreams.

Now, Manchester United will have to resist Rangers without one of their most expensive attackers as Fabrizio Romano says ‘here we go’.

Manchester United to sanction £82m winger exit

Antony has been one of the most disappointing signings in recent Manchester United history but he is a part of the Red Devils’ Europa League squad.

Moving to Old Trafford during Erik Ten Hag’s first summer, United paid Ajax a whopping £82m to sign Antony back in 2022.

The transfer of the Brazilian winger exemplifies a lot of what’s gone wrong at Manchester United in recent seasons and now the 24-year-old looks set to leave the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ruben Amorim has sanctioned a loan deal for Antony which will see the ex-Sao Paolo star move to Real Betis for the remainder of the season.

Whilst the right-winger might not have been in line to start against Rangers, the Brazilian has played in four of United’s six Europa League games this season.

Ex-Rangers star now leads Red Devils attack

Rangers know that they’ll be playing an out of sorts Manchester United team who find themselves 13th in the Premier League table this season.

Whilst Ruben Amorim desperately tries to imprint his vision on the Red Devils’ style of play, Philippe Clement will be looking to take full advantage of the club’s recent slump.

But despite Antony preparing to move on ahead of the Europa League clash, the Belgian will be well aware of the attacking options who can hurt Rangers south of the border.

None more so than former Rangers loanee Amad Diallo, who has been a rare shining light in a season of disappointment at Old Trafford.

Amad has nine goals for Manchester United this season, including a recent hat-trick against Southampton, and Rangers will need to keep the winger quiet on Thursday.

Much of the subtext heading into this game will surround the 22-year-old Ivorian, who netted a Europa League double against PAOK earlier in the group stages.
